Driver Sessions

A driver comparison outdoors is at the mercy of whatever the wind is doing that afternoon. Indoors, the only variable left is the club.

The Wind Problem

Why a Bay Beats a Range for This Club

Of every club in the bag, the driver is the most exposed to wind on an outdoor range — the ball is in the air longest and travels the farthest, so even a light crosswind can shift a carry number by fifteen or twenty yards without your swing changing at all. That makes back-to-back comparisons between two heads or shafts unreliable unless conditions hold perfectly still, which they rarely do for an entire session.

Inside a sealed bay, that variable disappears. Every driver you test hits into the same still air, so a five-yard difference on the readout is five yards the equipment actually produced.

What We Compare

Levers We Pull During a Driver Session

01

Adjustable Loft

Hosel adjustments let us step through loft in half-degree increments while every other variable stays fixed.

02

Head Design

Center-of-gravity placement changes launch independently of loft — we test more than one head shape per session.

03

Shaft Profile

Weight and bend point shift release timing, which changes the effective loft you deliver at impact.

Dual-Tracking

Why We Run Radar and Camera Together

Radar alone can lose a shot's true spin axis on mishits; camera alone can struggle in low light. Running both systems on every swing and reconciling the two gives us a driver carry number we trust to within a yard, indoors, every single time.

Find Your Real Driver Numbers

A driver session runs 45–60 minutes and includes a written spec report.
